A minivan rental car backed into my motorcycle today and caused a whole bunch of damage.
Is it possible my insurance rates will go up even if I’m not at fault? Because the bike was parked when this happened (no one driving) do I need to tell insurance companies about it when shopping for a new policy?
also, who is responsible in this case: the rental car agency or the drivers personal insurance?
I have liability insurance. I am renting a car for 5 days. They told me it would be $210. Will my liability insurance be enough? Will I have to buy insurance from them? Do you have to get ANY insurance? How does this work? What do I need to bring when I go to rent the car?
I had an accident that was 100% the other parties fault. His insurance co. is paying for repairs (over $9000), plus a rental for me. However the value of my car will be a good $5000. less if I want to sell or trade it than it would have been before the accident. Shouldn’t the insurance company reimburse me for that loss? Are they legally obligated for that also?
I was in an auto accident (not at fault)and the insurance company wants to settle.I know that they have to pay my medical bills, medicine, car rental, loss of work, car repair, and 3 times the amount for the medical bill..Is that it?
I was renting a car for the weekend deal with enterprise. When the office agent told me that if I did not have a personal coverage ( Aside from the damage waiver) I had to take the third party insurance policy. It sounded a bit weird to me. Since all the rental companies that I had dealt with always had the basic insurance on their cars as default. Isn’t it actually against the law to have a car registered without having the mandatory insurance? Or was there something there I didn’t get?
Several months ago, my car was damaged in an incident with a rented vehicle. The rented vehicle was being driven by an acquaintance of mine and they were subsequently arrested for assault. The rental company has obtained the services of an investigator who has interviewed all parties involved but still have not rendered a decision. They seem to believe the driver of the rented vehicle falsified insurance information when the car was rented and they should not be liable. I have been told that in any event they are responsible for liability for all vehicles they rent. They are now asking for months of my telephone records for some reason stating that the records are necessary to make an evaluation. My insurance company will not pay until the rental companies carrier refuses. What are my options at this point. It has been almost 3 months and we seem no closer to any resolution.
I was in a car accident about a year ago. Other party’s fault. Now I am getting a settlement letter from the other party’s insurance: they’re only willing to pay $500 of $1000 of my car rental bill. They say the car was in the shop unreasonably too long. It was just after the hurricaine last year and all bodyshops were way behind due to all the cars damaged by force majeure. I tried to bargain with them, but they wouldn’t budge. Do I have to take them to court? Is it worth it? What else can I do?
It’s been 6 months since the accident. There were multiple cars involved and the guy who caused the accident only has 10,000 for property damage so I’m getting screwed. I sometimes will call the adjuster twice a day for 2 weeks before he’ll return my call. Are they required to pay for a rental while it’s being fixed or does that come out of the money the adjuster gives me? I so feel like I’m being taken advantage of. Any help would be great! Thanks!
I was involved in a car accident on my way back from work. There was no other parties involved, no one was hurt, and the damage to my car, while moderate, can be fixed. The highway patrol officer did not file a report since no one else was involved and I wasn’t hurt, but still asked me to report it to my insurance company. However, I’m wondering if I’m better off fixing the damage myself and not worry about premiums.
What are the pros and cons (if any) of reporting such an accident? Are there any sides to making an insurance report/claim that I am missing?
After a wreck can I except the partial claim from their insurance after my insurance fixed my vehicle?
They were found at fault. Their insurance only wants to pay 70%. So I filled with my insurance who is paying 100% minus my 500 dollar deductible. My insurance the other day told me if they other company calls me trying to get me to except the 70% not to take our they won’t be able to go after them for reimbursement. But this has been a pain from both insurance companies in my ass. Neither will pay for my rental car I’m out 500 bucks that was christmas money and the accident wasn’t my fault nor was I given any tickets.
Now my thing if I take the 70% I get 1600 and I can pocket 1100. Say bite me to both of them. I feel I earned it.
