Spacewalkers Tom Marshburn and Chris Cassidy completed a four hour, 54 minute spacewalk at 12:27 pm EDT. Marshburn and Cassidy secured multi-layer insulation around the Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator known as Dextre, split out power channels for two space station Control Moment Gyroscopes, installed video cameras on the front and back of the new Japanese Exposed Facility and performed a number of get ahead tasks, including tying down some cables and installing handrails and a portable foot restraint to aid future spacewalkers. The deployment of the Payload Attach System on the Starboard 3 truss was deferred to another spacewalk sometime in the future. This was the fifth and last planned STS-127 spacewalk, the 130th in support of International Space Station assembly and maintenance, totaling 810 hours, 36 minutes. It was the 102nd spacewalk out of space station airlocks and the 218th American spacewalk in history. It was the third for both Marshburn and Cassidy, Marshburn totaling 18 hours, 59 minutes and Cassidy 18 hours, five minutes. This was the second space station assembly mission to conduct five spacewalks. STS-123 also performed five spacewalks in March 2008. The five STS-127 spacewalks totaled 30 hours, 30 minutes. The five STS-123 spacewalks totaled 33 hours, 29 minutes.
Former American Idol finalist Katharine McPhee recently graced the cover of Stuff magazine. McPhee also had a conversation with the magazine wherein she talked about several topics, including her provocative pose on the cover of her self-titled debut album.
“People made a big deal out of [my album cover being racy],” she said. “They said, ‘She’s a slut, blah blah blah.’ But I’m really not showing that much skin. It’s all suggested.”
In addition, she said that whatever people saw on the American Idol series is just one part of her complex personality.
“There are different sides of me. On American Idol, people saw the side that is very professional and put together,” the 22 year old singer explained to Stuff Magazine. “But there’s this other side of me that’s outgoing, energetic and wild—and did really stupid things in college.”
What stupid things exactly? Standing over an air grate in Boston while wearing a small skirt and taking her friends to Coyote Ugly where “the girls were taking their bras off” were just a couple of them.
McPhee also told stories about her teens and claimed that she studied in an all-girls school, thus she became very eager to have a boyfriend. She is currently dating 41 year old Broadway performer Nick Cokas.
She was then asked if she really preferred dating much older men. McPhee replied, “When I turned 21, I thought it was a good age to explore. You’re no longer a teenager, so it’s OK [to date older guys]. I gravitated toward them, and I love them. They’re just wiser, and they’re less about themselves and more about you.”
McPhee and Cokas met when they were ast in the musical, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, last year. In May, it was reported by The National Enquirer that the couple was spotted checking out wedding cakes, with McPhee telling a customer that they were getting married. McPhee’s representative later denied these reports, but she told Stuff Magazine that she will settle down eventually.
“I want to have, like, 15 babies. I’ve always wanted to be pregnant,” McPhee said. “One year for Halloween, I decided to be pregnant, so I got this nun costume, and I put a big belly under it. I showed my parents and said I want to go to school as a pregnant nun. My dad sat me down and said, ‘Katharine, you can’t!’”
